Bundling

The average household saves over £413 a year by bundling, combining their services with one provider

A third of broadband customers do not bundle even though they can make BIG savings. It is often cheaper than buying 2 or 3 products separately

Companies often offer a discounted price or low introductory rates if you take a bundle

Need to know

  • It is important to look at what the call rates are on your package as this is where companies really ramp up the costs to claw back the money they lose on some of their headline grabbing low rates
  • Providers use a technique called ‘dripping’ to draw you to the positive parts of the contract. BE SAVVY always know:

The price after the opening deal- (eg. Free for 6 months)

The line rental- many sites will advertise cheap or free internet without mentioning line rental, which is normally around £15

The length of contract- compared to the length of the deal, a 6 month discount becomes less appealing for an 18month contract

The installation costs- BT and Virgin Media will install a phone line for free if you are taking a broadband (or TV) package or bundle but some may charge you, often up to £130!

  • Some companies take bundling even further. If you have a Tesco mobile or credit card you will get a reduction on their broadband and EE only offer their £5 broadband to customers already on EE, T-Mobile or Orange phones
  • Call the FREE switching service  0203 092 5045 today to find the best deal for you. Lines open until 9pm Monday to Friday and 6:30pm on weekends.

The inside track

  • Once you have picked your deal, in most cases you just fill in an application form online and the provider takes things from there. The process should take between 14 to 21 working days, and there shouldn’t be a break in your service
  • Talk Talk are consistently the most competitive for call costs in their bundle packages
